How to Set Up the CO₂ Emissions Automation in Dockflow

Automating CO₂ emissions calculations in Dockflow helps ensure consistent, timely updates with minimal manual work. This guide walks you through setting up the automation in two simple steps.

Step 1: Add a Milestone Change Trigger

First, we'll add a trigger that kicks off the automation when a specific event occurs.

  1. In your automation setup, add a new trigger step.

  2. Choose Milestone change as the trigger type.

  3. Set the event to: Vessel arrival (POD).

  4. Make sure this step is placed directly after the vessel arrival milestone in your automation sequence.

step 1 co2

This ensures the automation only runs once the vessel has arrived at the port of discharge (POD).

Step 2: Add the CO₂ Emissions Calculation Step

Next, you’ll add the actual emissions calculation.

  1. Add a new action step to your automation.

  2. Select Calculate emissions as the action type.

  3. Choose the option: Calculate CO₂ emissions using Dockflow.

step 2 co2

This step uses Dockflow’s built-in emissions model to automatically compute the CO₂ footprint for the shipment.
